That's interesting about neutrino's and gravitational collapse, I am a bit behind. Peter H and Lee - thanks for getting back with that. " We have the age from the Hubble parameter by measuring the red shift of distant galaxies and their distance...

Hi Peter, I've been busy again, but quickly checked out the links you provided when i questioned measuring 13 billion years. From what i can see, and from the things you said yourself, we just cannot measure 13 billion years. 13 billion years is ...

Hi Lee, some pages ago you said something about 13 billion years and " If you cannot measure it - it isn’t science. Simple " Truly true, Lee :-) Could you please explain how you measure 13 billion years? I did post this back there but it got lo...

" That's ch. 1 - ch.2 gives a different order... " Oh boy, we've been all through this sometime before, just like every other issue that comes up. Ch 2 is simply a more focussed aspect of creation.

If that's what you want to be called then that's fine by me ! Anyway, your argument about the burning down of the first White House using metaphor has no bearing to 'interpreting' Genesis. You use a metaphor to describe a real event; we can look ...

Don't pay any attention to Michael, Celsus. He loves to play hard-to-get and loves winding people up. He thinks it makes him look clever. Check out the work of Professor James Barr of a college in Oxford (i don't think it was Oxford uni). He died...

" At the close of that drama God simply tells us all to shut up and attend to our own business; He is after all the one who knows best " That's not quite the ending that's in the book; it's more like - " I am LORD and GOD, trust me even when you ...

Hi Paul. Hope you are well. Things not too bed here although we all had a sickness/vomiting bug which went around the house like wildfire. It hit me the worst since I've got the ileostomy (felt really ill for a week) but we're all OK now. I notice Geoff has now regestired for the site. Interesting. Now if Gary could only persuade Glenn Morton to join in we really could have an interesting debate ! Glenn's testimony has even been discussed on the Richard Dawkins forum, where the Atheists seemed somewhat peeved he didn't go the whole hog and ditch Christianity altogether.

Anyway, take care Paul.

God Bless.

Pete.

God bless you, too

Yeah, same old, same old with the Rev, Peter H, Gary H et al. We should never get
tired of debating with these guys perhaps one day God may open their eyes who knows? I love it, it seems to me that Peter is Micheals' Jack Russell nipping at the ankles !

Tried to delete the post in order to modify it but for some reason I can't do this at present.

Still, several thousand people will probably have heard the pastor's comments so his views are hardly private (I've also heard this type of thing from the pulpit by the way)

I'll try again later . I assume you click on the little X at the top right hand corner (the x only appears on my own posts) ?

Hi Thorny.

I haven't actually identified the church, client, or pastor so I don't think I've really done anything wrong. However, I can modify the post so that the church is less identifiable, if you wish. Apart from people here in Belfast no-one in the rest of the UK would have a clue as to who I am talking about.

My wife tells me that there are quite a lot of so-called church councellers who are completely unqualified (a 4 week course does not qualify you to be a counceller) and many do more harm than good (my wife has to pick up the pieces on many occasions). I think the church turns a blind eye to many of these problems (such as divorce or child abuse) and pretends they're not happening. Unfortunately they are occuring all to often these days.

I am correct about what I am saying though. Here in Northern Ireland murder is seen as being more acceptable than divorce. Many evangelical Protestant churches have less of a problem with murderers than divorcees. This is what Collin is experiencing. The Catholic church is even worse on this issue.

By the way, when I go to pubs I don't drink alcohol, only an orange or diet coke. I think it's probably OK for Christians to have one or two drinks (a glass of wine for example), but not to drink to excess. Although, even one drink can lead to problems (every alcoholic remembers their first drink apparently). i've also heard a number of testimonies from former alcohlics. As I say, I can't stand the taste of alcohol.

Feel free to e-mail me anytime Thorny:
