Divorced but not devastated - More tips on managing your life

Many people find themselves in a situation where they have difficulties with ex-partners. Ask anyone who has been through a relationship breakdown and they will tell you how difficult and painful it sometimes can be, even without children.

When children are involved this can be even more distressing and as Jill Curtis from Family Onwards says: ‘The urge to put one of the partners in the role of a villain can be tempting, but the reality is that this does not help anyone’.

There may be times wh… Continue

Divorced but not devastated - Coping with an abusive ex partner

At this point in time my work, the children and life in general was going well. But the main problem was that my ex continued to be abusive over the phone. Even though I was lucky that he had moved abroad he was still a pain. I did allow him to talk to the children. I must admit at first when he was abusive I was abusive as well. I then would not allow him to speak to the children.

As time went on I felt quite tired and drained. I then told my pastor in the church about the situation, he prayed… Continue

Divorced but not devastated - Developing my confidence and self esteem

One lady who was recently divorced, said she felt humiliated because of it, and that she felt she had s huge D marked on my forehead and felt that she was branded for life. Well you and I don’t have to feel that way.

After a divorce it is easy to become paranoid when you consider your circumstances, you may often imagine that others are talking about you. You feel sure that the church you attend views you differently and that your neighbours think something must be terribly wrong with you. At f… Continue

Divorced but not devastated - Seeking God's guidance

In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths – Proverbs 3:6

As I started this journey, I realised that I had so many decisions to make, and so much to do, not enough energy and strength to do the things I wanted to do. I realise that I was not a super woman; I had to seek God’s guidance in everything I did.

You see, on your own you can’t, but together with a prayerful friend you can trust and with God in the middle you can. “God always gives the best to those who lea… Continue

Hi Genny .. Thank you, but really i'm ok at the moment I think i just have to be still and just trust in the Lord, I think i'm at that point in life where I just have to trust Him and be stlll. Thank you so much for your kind hands... :-)
Have you thought anymore about your holiday, if and when you will take one and where you would like to go?

Hi genny thanks so much for your hi... I could so do with a life coach now... :-) but then again i'm sure at times you just want to say hi to someone without them reaching out with both hands, although you probably don't mind, but maybe sometimes it's just nice for another to simply say hi right back? You said that you now felt like going away on holiday, you sound like you've got your hands full, but i've nothing but great admiration for you, if only i knew what business i would love to start, but is it possible for you to take any time off and just go somewhere? It's so beautiful when you take off to a beautiful place and you allow God to glow all around you, as in you hire out a car and take off and you trust him that even if you get lost, it's so ok as he's right there with you and you're just trusting him that hes going to open up your eyes to his amazing glory everywhere, you can be sitting on the beach and you hear him in the waves and feel him in the breeze, we serve an amazing God and i'm sure if you took some time out to go away, he'll refresh you.
You mentioned in your note to me about a permanant position...? i already have one, i do question where next and feel i should be doing heaps more but..? that's my cross roads.. If you ever want to just simply say hi, please do. i promise i'll try not to talk about me.. although it will be hard... :-) but i'll try to remember it's not about me right now.. bless you xx
