I would like to connect with you there also. I am trying to make more connections and fans so that I can spread awareness for breast cancer during pregnancy. Hi Alison, I hope that things went well with you at the TO meeting today, I said "hello" from you to Rachel Moriarty this earlier today - she says hello back. All Blessings, Christian.

Hi Alison, Yes the course is with Rachel, I will indeed extend best wishes to her from you, I also pray the all goes well for you on Saturday when you are noviced. I've still got a long road ahead of me before I complete Bishop's certificate, what with a mere 15 points to my name, but a road always looks long from the beginniing. I don't think that's a saying by the way. God Bless, Christian.

Good to hear from you Alison, I can tell that you have been snowed under and I think colour for the Parish magazine [though probably a little more expensive] is a good move, one must remember that to non-Christians the idea of Christianity is foolishness, little realising that theyv will probably spend their whole lives wandering, never stable, and given up to their own will, rooted in their own selfishness and self-seeking. It is better to be rooted in God and in the search for God, who saves us through Christ. I am hoping to be invited to the Third Order's November meeting, as I have already had my meeting with the Area Novice Guardian. I attended what turned out to be a lecture really, concerning "The Church in Victorian Sussex" at Chichester Cathedral which adds points to the Bishop's Certificate, which I am aiming to complete in the fulness of time. Unfortunately it fell on the date of the last Third Order meeting, and the next [and last] part falls on the same date as the next TO meeting, so it seems a long wait but I know that time moves quickly so we'll see in November. Glad you are keeping well, all blessings, Christian.

Hi Alison, I have decided to give the Third Order a chance, I am now not too worried about the logistical concerns I had, as these things usually work out by themselves I'm told. The main thing is that I long to follow more closely the spiritual path, and I will be interested to see how things progress in the future which I am not thinking about, as one should live in the here and now for that is living. The past and the futiure lie in the hands of God, so by His will alone I will see where he leads me. Hope you are well, and God bless, Christian.

Yes, funnily enough I had a meeting with Richard only this morning to discuss my view to joining the Third Order. You are right to say that I should look really at the two personalities of St Francis and St Benedict. I hope to spend a few days at Worth Abbey next month, a quiet time of reflection on all these things, the only thing I must not do is become obessive about things [as this usually has an adverse effect on me and makes me down]. Thank you for your prayers, you will be in mine also. Christian.

Hi Alison, I see that you are a postulant of in The Third Order of St Francis and probably just the sort of person I am interested to speak to. I myself have been thinking of joining the Anglican Third of Order of the Society of St Francis, and also looking into the Benedictines, they are so similar that it is difficult to decide which way to go if any. All I do know is that I feel drawn to the 'Religious Life' and I do like the idea of a Rule of Life. Logistically however I have doubts about the whole affair, as I've been told that it is usual to go to monthly area meetings which are spread quite far, and I do not drive. Also, I don't know that a Rule of Life is not something I can do myself, but I feel at the same time that the Fellowship found in the Third Order would be worth it's weight in gold. I do know that I have a strong desire to progress spiritually and I like the fact the Order hold the Eucharist as the heart of Prayer. Also, I wonder how scriptual it is to follow St Francis, who himself was following Jesus? Any comments would be appreciated.

Hi Alison, thanks for your invitation. If I can be of any encouragement in your journey, I'd love to hear from you (I've got some theological training, though I may not be always conventional in what I've chosen to make of it!) The church needs evangelists, and if the Bishop's Certificate helps equip you in your calling, that's really good news.
