Wanted Poems for the poor.

If your talents you would use 
To show your love and care 
For those who have much less than you 
Then kindly say a prayer 
A group of folk who once were worse 
Are looking for some striking verse 
To make us think what we should do 
To answer the call to work anew
To bring His love from the fattened few
(The wealth we own is not our due) 
To the many starving mouths we see 
So plainly shown on our TV
All money raised by anthology 
Will go to help to set them free.

I wrote this last year for a different 'thread' but offer it here under a new title.

These Are The Lord's Too.

They are yours too
that yet walk in shadow.
Who will bring the light?

And they are yours
whose wisdom is shallow
but say they are right.

These too are yours
asleep in beds cold and narrow
yet deserving in your sight.

All those who speak to other gods
are yours if they hear Your Voice.
Who will speak for you?

And those too desperate
too poor to spare the time
in quiet contemplation.

And we who know You
pray that they all will too.....and Lord,
Bring them your Salvation.

I like this poem Steve very much.. with the recurring theme of who are "yours", and the responsibility we have to tell others about God's love for them.
