Recently i have come across alot of expectant mothers, and those who have children already, who are battling with a desire to be preachers, evangelists, worship leaders etc, but who also have a family. Should mothers forsake their desire for ministry, throwing away all their dreams to look after the children?

<irony>Of course you should - its disgraceful that they even think of speaking! Women should keep quiet in Church and ask their husband afterwards if anything confuses their pretty little heads (1 Corinthians 14:33-35). I'm truly shocked that these men are not taking their God-given role and ensuring their wives are pregnant and at the kitchen sink!</irony>

Ahem!
If one is preggie, it's very very difficult to stand at the kitchen sink - you need to pick only one, Stevie
Then of course, once it's born, you can't take your eyes off it for more than half a nanosecond so daddy has to do all the washing up ;o)

If text is too small too read, here is the link to the page: http://www.forumapex.com/gallery/data/500/good_housekeeping1955.jpg. I've seen this a few times and would be gutted if I found out it was a spoof!

My personal take on the topic 'Throw women out the pulpits!!!’ is based on scripture. One of the most ‘out of context’ scriptural interpretation of gender bashing comes from –

1 Corinthians 14:34 (New International Version)

34 women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says.

However, this passage did not refer to which gender was to undertake Christian Ministry, more a scolding for the group of both the men and the gossiping women, who imagined their personal take on determining what's right and wrong revolved around themselves and not the Lord.

Ministry begins at home -

Luke 18:16 (New International Version)

16 But Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

And how are the kids supposed to gain knowledge of our Lord if not by ‘both’ Mum and Dad? However, limited to only a family forum can restrict greater knowledge of fully and more instructive Christian values.

Let’s look at this passage;

Acts 2:18 (New International Version)

18 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.

The key words being ‘both men and women’! And, prophetic words are a commission from the Lord to be spoken to all. If God places something on your heart for sharing – share it! Come on Girls (and Boys), lets get over this gender issue and get onto God’s issues!

God’s blessing upon you all.

Dr Who trivia.

Mr Majister was the name the Master adopted when he posed as a CofE vicar back in the 1970s.

Women priests? Gay priests? No worries! What about evil Time-Lord priests?
