Could someone please find for me a verse in the bible stat states Christians go to heaven when they die?

On another note. Why do we promote 'heaven when we die' as a good thing for people who's lives are crap now and need the Kingdom of God in this life?

I guess what I'm saying is I'm over the 'get to heaven when we die' way of evangelizing. Any thoughts?

Yes we understand justice and love but we cannot understand 'heaven' because we only know this fallen world and I am not simply talking about riches to come. I went to Disney land in florida and what i saw made me consider heaven, walking onto a film set will make you think, the beauty and calmness of teh countryside can make us think. But just the awesomeness of the place we simply cannot behold, it would be too overwhelming. It is not my words but God's words that say 'eyes have not seen, and ears have not heard'. We can assume heaven as we perceive it to be, but our God (the one who made heaven and earth) is far bigger and has a vision that is far greater than we could ever ever even begin to write about.

Again bringing this back to the evangelism issue, we have to get to the minds of people and that means we need to get into their boxes and come out of ours. You cannot tell a rich man there is more to come until he has a tragedy, heaven is irrelevant in evangelising, people need to know how to live now. If I learned tomorrow that there was no God, my devastation would be that I would find it hard to live without his guidance not that when I die I am not now going to heaven (although i want to). If we are going to evangelise using heaven we might as well evangelise using hell as both are as real as each other. Evangelise using God's love and his sacrifice.
