Hi Martin,

I'd entirely agree with you that Evolution is not the same as science.

I suppose football isn't really football is it - not with your definition anyway.

I mean they pick the ball up and hit it around with their hands over here – and STILL call it football.

It's the same with science - you have your personal definition of science, and football just isn't it, sorry evolution just is it.

The problem you have is that 99.99% of the people working in science have a definition of science that includes evolution.

So, take your ball home if you do not want to play - but stop thinking that you are some sort of authority when it comes to defining what science is.

You can call a circle a triangle all day long if you like – it doesn’t change anything.

Oh, and did you show where physics got it's maths wrong with the constant c? I cannot find your reply where you proved Maxwell's equation wrong when I challenged you to do so.

You are still claiming the constant c, isn’t a constant right?

So please back it up or take back your claim that the universe is 6,000 years old.

Ploughboy, I have stood on the banks of channels at full flood. I have excavated through meters of sediments deposited by recent floods. I, like Michael, have seen first hand the types of deposits left by glaciers. I have been in sand storms that left over 12 cm of sand in my cot (which was inside a tent).

But far more importantly, we have personally carefully observed what these events, (all but volcanism on my part), have left as patterned sediments. I personally know geologists (some well trusted childhood friends) who have observed volcanoes. In fact, one friend died in the Mt St. Helen's eruption while still recording scientific data.

So your feeble challenges are a joke. You are embarrassing to Christians.

The reference cited by Humphreys as a “non-creationist” publication was a poster presentation with an abstract given at a conference. For those people not in professional science, anyone can present a poster at a conference if they pay their registration, and submit an abstract by the filing deadline. At least a dozen of my undergraduate students have presented posters at conferences. It was actually considered an achievement for them- they were just kids. My name appears as their sponsor). A poster is quite literally a one or two page blowup poster hanging on the wall at the conference.

Yeah right. More subtle than Michael's comments of course but stil the same mantra of "YEC liars". So sorry, you haven't taken me in.

Ploughboy, I have found that you are such an unreliable witness to anything at all that even your Christian witness is dubious. Your rejection of obviously true science violates scripture as well as rational thought.

"… in the sight of God, a thousand years are like yesterday when it passes by, or as a watch in the night." (Psalms 90: 4)

"God is not bound by time or space. Whether the earth was created in one day or one thousand years is inconsequential to God. God's ways and thoughts are above our ways and thoughts." (Isaiah 55: 8, 9).

And as a friendly warning,

James 3:1. Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment.

However God has said:

"For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it." Exodus 20:11

As for your 'friendly warning', I am not a teacher, you apparently think you are.

So what you have seen is rather limited and certainly does not approach what we see along the South Coast. Clearly a global flood, with the upheaval associated with it, would have vastly more impact than anything you have observed.
